About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join a compact, expert team driving the development and advancement of a sophisticated data-centric technology platform. This senior opportunity involves hands-on responsibilities with backend architecture, system design, and leadership in technical direction rather than simply implementing predetermined designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain backend services, APIs, and platform functionalities.
- Lead the evolution of backend architecture, defining service boundaries and overall system structure.
- Contribute to data ingestion pipelines, workflow automation, and scalable processing solutions.
- Balance trade-offs in production environments around performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Architect applications with focus on tenancy, permissions, and authentication mechanisms.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and participate in setting engineering standards, including integration of AI-assisted development tools.
- Collaborate closely with product management, data scientists, and infrastructure teams.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a senior software engineer in product-focused, SaaS, or platform-based environments.
- Expertise in Python programming with strong backend API design skills, preferably with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and data modeling techniques.
- Experience developing scalable, production-grade systems and sound understanding of service-oriented architecture and system design principles.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally AWS, along with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated strong technical judgment and the ability to guide architectural decisions.
Additional Skills (Advantageous)
- Experience working on data-intensive or integration-heavy platforms.
- Exposure to Next.js and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development workflows.
Technology Stack

Compensation
Salary offered ranges between £75,000 and £85,000 annually.
