Senior Radiographer

Role Overview

We are seeking a committed and proficient Band 6 Radiographer to join the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust team, operating primarily at Aintree University Hospital and various North Liverpool Community locations including St Chads, Litherland Town Hall, and Kenilworth Road. The successful candidate is expected to operate independently, creating radiographic images of excellent diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff, all while upholding superior patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic examinations adhering to the highest technical and professional standards.
• Oversee and manage a team comprising radiographers, imaging assistants, student radiographers, assistant practitioners, and apprentices, providing guidance and supervision.
• Actively participate in the community shift rota.
• Provide first-line supervision within the Radiology Department for radiographic tasks.
• Educate and mentor radiographic students in imaging techniques and interpretation.
• Support Band 7 Lead Radiographers in daily department operational activities.
• Assist in the development and compliance of Band 5 Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners with departmental protocols.
• Ensure completion and documentation of quality assurance, preventative maintenance, and equipment breakdown records.
• Engage in audit, research activities, and professional presentations.
• Maintain accurate patient and statutory radiation safety records.
• Enforce radiation safety codes as prescribed by local regulations and promptly report any violations to Senior RPS/RPA.
