Role Overview
As a Senior Radiographer at South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital, you will play an integral role in delivering radiography services with professionalism that upholds the esteemed reputation of both the department and hospital. Your efforts will contribute towards a patient-centered approach within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality radiographic services utilizing best evidence-based practices under the guidelines set by the Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and timely delivery of x-ray services.
- Participate in rotational duties across all radiology sections as necessary.
- Follow and enforce departmental imaging protocols and ensure accurate patient image identification.
- Engage in the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures to promote safe and professional radiography practices.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating comprehensive aspects of radiography services.
- Comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards governing the use of ionising radiation.
- Lead and participate in audit and quality assurance activities, benchmarking against recognized evidence-based standards, and implement required improvements.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure ongoing adherence to the pertinent laws and professional standards related to radiography to maintain service quality and patient safety.
