Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator with over 8 years of demonstrated expertise, specifically in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments. The candidate must possess strong skills in administration, performance optimization, backup and recovery, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and supporting mission-critical production databases.

Primary Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database systems.
• Manage all database administration duties such as managing users, roles, privileges, tablespaces, datafiles, schemas, indexes, and other database objects.
• Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues, apply tuning techniques to SQL queries and overall database operations.
• Handle Oracle RMAN backup and recovery, Data Pump operations, and SQL Server backup and restoration processes.
• Deploy and maintain Oracle Data Guard, RAC clusters, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
• Administer SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication, Log Shipping, and Database Mirroring technologies.
• Conduct database upgrades, patching, migrations, cloning, environment synchronizations, and refreshes.
• Monitor database health metrics including storage, capacity planning, sessions, locks, jobs, and alerts, proactively resolving emerging issues.
• Respond to production incidents with root cause analysis and manage changes according to SLAs.
• Implement database security frameworks, access control, auditing, and compliance requirements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive database monitoring, maintenance, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Collaborate closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, cloud engineers, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve database-related challenges.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, operational manuals, and disaster recovery runbooks.

Technical Expertise Required

Oracle Database:

• Experience with Oracle versions 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c or newer.
• Proficient in RMAN, Data Pump, and SQL*Loader utilities.
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC and Data Guard solutions.
• Skills in performance tuning using tools such as AWR and ASH reports.
• Administering tablespace, datafile management, and user privileges.
• Performing database upgrades, patch application, and backup/recovery processes.

Microsoft SQL Server:

• Experience with SQL Server versions including 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
• Expertise in T-SQL scripting and query performance tuning.
• Manage high availability via Always On Availability Groups and Failover Clustering.
• Implement replication strategies, log shipping, and database mirroring.
• Perform routine backup, restore, and recovery tasks.
• Proficient in performance monitoring and troubleshooting SQL Server instances.
