Job description
Job Overview
Reporting to the Head of Data Centre, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the daily operational activities within the NETS Data Centre to ensure smooth and continuous functionality.
Primary Duties
- Execute routine tasks such as batch processing, report printing, system backups, tape handling, server restarts, and conduct regular checks on data centre facilities and infrastructure.
- Continuously monitor system uptime and connectivity to guarantee availability and minimize downtime, collaborating with vendors or level-two support teams for issue resolution.
- Document and report problems, assigning them to the suitable teams for timely management.
- Strictly adhere to physical security protocols within the data centre.
- Escort authorized personnel when accessing the Data Centres at Kim Chuan and Bedok locations.
Requirements
- Possess at least a Nitec, Higher Nitec, or Diploma qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Availability to work on a 24-hour rotational shift schedule across three shifts, with shift allowance provided.
- Demonstrate strong self-motivation and capability to work independently.
- Proficient in operating systems including Windows Server, UNIX, and AIX.
- Have a minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience working in a data centre or similar environment.
