ILM has crafted visual effects for over 325 feature films, including contributions to seven of the top 10 global box office hits and 25 of the top 50. Setting the benchmark in digital effects, ILM continues innovating in areas such as VR, AR, and immersive cinema experiences.
Role Overview
As a Senior Modeler, you will uniquely blend artistic creativity with technical precision to develop digital assets. Your expertise will span both organic sculpting and hard surface modeling to create high-quality models that meet production standards.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of complex modeling tasks for assets such as creatures, characters, vehicles, props, and environments independently.
- Create production-ready assets that are clean, efficient, and optimized for use in final outputs.
- Work closely with teams across departments to help define and realize desired visual aesthetics.
- Deliver exceptional-quality work within deadlines while providing accurate time assessments and maintaining proactive communication.
- Engage actively in project reviews and effectively incorporate feedback.
Required Skills and Experience
- Expert-level skills in Maya and ZBrush, with the flexibility to quickly learn and utilize proprietary ILM tools.
- At least 5 to 8 years' professional background in VFX or feature animation production pipelines.
- Demonstrable success in producing high-quality models under tight production schedules.
- Strong communication skills, dependable time management, and a collaborative, solution-oriented approach.
