Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position based in Doha, Qatar, involves leading mechanical system design, analysis, and deployment for electromechanical projects. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing mechanical plans and calculations, coordinating with diverse project teams, ensuring compliance with all technical and client specifications, and offering technical support throughout installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review mechanical drawings and perform engineering calculations.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site engineers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide technical guidance during equipment installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Conduct regular site inspections and troubleshoot mechanical system issues.
- Propose design improvements to optimize system efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Draft technical reports and assist in creating tender and bid documents.
- Liaise with vendors and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- Mentor junior engineers to uphold high-quality engineering standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in designing and specifying mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Proficiency with engineering software including AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical simulation tools.
- Experience integrating mechanical systems with electrical and control systems under relevant industry codes.
- Skilled in site supervision, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Strong project coordination abilities, capable of managing priorities and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and client interactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; professional certifications are beneficial.
- Several years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, ideally within the GCC or similar settings.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement.
- Ability to work on-site in Doha, adjusting to a dynamic and project-focused environment.
