Senior Manager - Warehouse Methods Engineer (Warehouse Design)

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional in Warehouse Design and Logistics Engineering to lead initiatives in warehouse design, material flow planning, capacity enhancement, and logistics engineering. This role will collaborate with Methods Engineering, SCM, Operations, IT, and Finance teams to create optimized warehouse systems and enhance logistics efficiency. This opportunity is with a renowned multinational corporation located in Attibele, Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize warehouse layouts, distribution centers, and material handling systems to maximize efficiency.
• Develop and maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP) for existing and future product/process lines.
• Manage intralogistics and material flow planning for new product introductions and ongoing improvement projects.
• Conduct warehouse capacity planning along with evaluating storage density and space utilization.
• Perform slotting analysis and material flow studies to improve picking productivity.
• Select appropriate material handling equipment (MHE) aligned with operational needs and optimize its usage.
• Create labor models and conduct cost-benefit analyses for various warehouse operations.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in inbound, outbound, and warehouse logistics processes.
• Support initiatives related to warehouse automation, digital transformation, dashboard implementations, and enhancing data transparency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth execution of logistics projects.
• Benchmark industry best practices and spearhead Lean Warehousing and continuous improvement programs.
• Assist in Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) optimization, project scheduling, and ensuring timely execution.

Required Expertise

• Proficiency in Warehouse Design and Distribution Center Planning.
• Strong background in Logistics Engineering and Supply Chain Engineering.
• Experience in warehouse capacity planning and material flow analysis.
• Knowledge in storage media design, slotting strategies, and space optimization.
• Expertise in selecting and managing Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Ability in maintaining PFEP and labor modeling.
• Hands-on experience with warehouse automation and Lean Warehousing principles.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement practices, project management, and stakeholder engagement.

Tools and Technologies

• AutoCAD and MS Visio for design and planning.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) including SAP EWM/WM and Oracle WMS (preferred).

Lean Manufacturing Knowledge (Preferred)

• Kanban, Just-In-Time (JIT), 3M methodology, Jidoka, and Lean Warehousing techniques.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related fields is required.
