Overview
Veeam Software is looking to hire a driven Senior Inside Systems Engineer to join their Systems Engineering team. This role plays a pivotal part in expanding Veeam's presence across highly virtualized and cloud-centric environments, providing expertise in data protection, cyber resilience, and data intelligence solutions. The position, which is fully remote or hybrid within Australia/New Zealand, involves close collaboration with Inside Sales teams to educate and advocate for Veeam's technology offerings among partners, resellers, and customers.
Main Duties
- Collaborate with sales teams to promote Veeam products, identify opportunities, and help exceed sales targets.
- Lead the technical evaluation phase as the primary advisor for Veeam solutions.
- Deliver compelling online and occasional on-site demonstrations to prospects and partners.
- Establish and oversee Proofs of Concept (POCs) until technical objectives are achieved.
- Provide pre-sales consultancy and advocate for Veeam solutions.
- Support marketing initiatives like events, webinars, and user groups to generate leads.
- Address technical inquiries and respond to RFPs related to Veeam's offerings.
- Eliminate technical hurdles in sales and assist customers in fulfilling their goals.
- Offer technical account management services to SMB and mid-market clients.
- Manage activities and records through CRM tools such as Salesforce.
- Gather customer feedback and share insights with product development teams.
- Create and present technical trainings and presentations for partners and internal groups.
- Provide training for both internal staff and external stakeholders including partners and customers.
- Disseminate technical knowledge within the company and broader community.

- Keep up-to-date with the latest Veeam products, market trends, and industry best practices.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive background in IT software pre-sales roles within vendor or partner organizations.
- Technical understanding of Veeam Data Cloud and Veeam Data Platform technologies.
- Demonstrated experience with virtualization and cloud-native tech such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, and Azure.
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and data management tools like Veeam, Commvault, Veritas, Rubrik, preferred.
- Familiarity with AI and cybersecurity principles.
- Bachelor's degree favored; applicable education combined with experience will be considered.
- Ability to effectively adapt to shifting job responsibilities.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proven skills deploying software solutions into intricate environments.
- Experience with SaaS platforms including Microsoft 365 and Salesforce is advantageous.
- Professional credentials such as VMCE, VCP, Azure, and AWS certifications are highly valued.
- Excellent presentation skills across various platforms such as Teams, Zoom, and webinars.
- Outstanding communication skills with confidence to engage diverse audiences.
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving independently in a fast-moving, innovative workplace.
- Insight into IT project drivers and solution-oriented selling methods.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel within the region, estimated at up to 15% of the time.
