Role Overview
The Senior Graphics Algorithm Architect will apply their expertise in computer graphics and GPU algorithms to research, design, and optimize core components of next-generation graphics rendering pipelines. Areas of focus include advanced techniques such as Ray Tracing, Path Tracing, Physically Based Rendering, and screen-space effects like SSR and SSAO. The role entails improving performance and stability of essential rendering modules—geometry processing, shader compilation, texture management, and GPU scheduling—and bridging graphics theory with engineering practice to advance from visual to perceptual realism.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the innovation and architectural design of core algorithms for next-generation rendering technologies including Ray Tracing, Path Tracing, PBR, SSR, SSAO, DLSS, and FSR.
- Develop and optimize high-performance GPU graphics algorithms, focusing on parallel computation characteristics to enhance frame rates and reduce latency and power consumption.
- Ensure robustness and tuning of core rendering subsystems like geometry processing, shader compilation, texture management, and GPU scheduling.
- Monitor and contribute to emerging graphics algorithm research; disseminate insights via technical papers, white papers, and blogs to strengthen technical leadership.
Candidate Profile
- Degree-qualified (BSc or MSc) in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Electronic Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years of practical experience in computer graphics, GPU graphics algorithms, or real-time rendering.
- Comprehensive understanding of modern rendering pipelines and technologies.
- Proven skill in designing and fine-tuning GPU-based graphics algorithms.
- Familiarity with techniques like Ray Tracing, Path Tracing, PBR, image reconstruction, and screen-space effects.
- Hands-on knowledge of geometry processing, shader compilation, texture management, and GPU scheduling.
- Strong grasp of GPU parallelism, graphics performance analysis, and optimization methodologies.
- Solid programming skills and algorithm design capabilities.
- Experience with graphics APIs such as Vulkan, OpenGL ES, Metal, DirectX 11/12, or OpenCL.
- Self-driven, organized, collaborative team player with excellent English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Graphics, GPU Architecture, or closely related areas.
- Published research at recognized graphics conferences or journals.
- Experience with graphics algorithm architecture design and product deployment.
- Track record of technical publications, patents, or industry white papers and blogs.
Benefits and Additional Information
- Annual leave entitlement of 33 days, inclusive of UK public holidays.
- Participation in Group Personal Pension scheme.
- Life insurance coverage.
- Private medical insurance and medical expense claim scheme.
- Employee Assistance Program to support wellbeing.
- Cycle to work scheme, sports clubs, and social events organized by the company.
- Additional leave allocated for personal learning and professional development.
