Senior Estimator - Life Sciences

Join our Life Sciences team in Ireland as a Senior Estimator, where you will contribute to significant capital investment projects in Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, and Biotech sectors.

This role involves providing expert cost estimation for large, complex projects, primarily within EPCM models. Ideal candidates will possess specialization in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Data Centres, or Semiconductor projects, bringing technical knowledge, strong commercial insight, and a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Fulfil all estimating requirements for assigned projects, reporting directly to the Estimating Section Head.
• Produce precise, high-standard, and timely cost estimates in accordance with company protocols and client needs.
• Establish and maintain respectful and productive collaboration with project teams and clients.
• Adhere to scheduled commitments in terms of timeline, labor hours, and budgets.
• Continuously improve estimating processes, tools, templates, and data quality.
• Ensure consistent application of estimating procedures across projects.
• Standardize tools, templates, and filing systems to achieve uniform estimating practices.
• Develop and implement estimation plans for all designated projects.
• Consolidate project estimates following approved standards and methodologies.
• Conduct risk analysis and contingency planning related to estimates.
• Lead presentations and reviews of estimates with project stakeholders.
• Maintain a central, traceable database of benchmarking data for knowledge sharing and ongoing improvement.
• Facilitate Value Engineering and Risk Workshops to optimize project value.
• Support initiatives related to Capital Cost Trending, Jacobs Value Plus, and Jacobs Sustainability Plus.
• Ensure compliance of systems and processes with project management and client requirements.
• Drive enhancement of estimating productivity and tools, utilizing platforms like CostX, Navisworks, Excel, and other digital technologies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields.
• Chartered status with relevant institutes such as Engineers Ireland or SCSI is advantageous.
• Extensive background in cost engineering, quantity surveying, or estimation, including onsite construction experience.
• Proven track record delivering cost estimates for large-scale industrial projects, preferably in Life Sciences or advanced technology sectors.
• Strong knowledge of EPCM project frameworks.
