Senior Electrical Engineer - Aviation

We seek a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Dublin, overseeing the design and technical delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems along with Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems on civil and aviation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of detailed MEP and AGL designs, including drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure designs are feasible and compliant.
• Provide technical problem-solving support onsite and within design teams.
• Guarantee compliance of all designs with applicable standards, regulations, and client specifications.
• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers.
• Assist with planning, sequencing, installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of MEP and AGL systems on-site.
• Engage with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on technical matters related to MEP and AGL.
• Support project management activities including meetings, design reviews, and workshops.
• Drive improvements in design efficiency, quality, and sustainability using digital tools, BIM, and innovative solutions.
• Share insights, lessons learned, and best practices across projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• Significant experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering relevant to civil engineering projects.
• Previous involvement in airside aviation work, especially in the installation and integration of AGL systems into existing infrastructures.
• Strong expertise in MEP and AGL systems, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to provide leadership and mentor junior staff effectively.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical, electrical, building services engineering, or a related field.
• Professional membership or accreditation from recognized bodies such as CIBSE, IET, or Engineers Ireland.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working on Tier 1 contractor projects or complex multi-disciplinary programs.
• Knowledge of sustainable and low-carbon design methodologies for MEP and AGL.
• Familiarity with digital construction technologies including BIM and lean project delivery methods.
• Chartered status or progression towards chartered certification with relevant professional institutions.
• Advanced qualifications in building services, project management, or sustainability disciplines.
• Training in BIM management, digital design, or advanced MEP and AGL technologies.
