About the Role
Join us in shaping the digital future of the German Armed Forces by maintaining, enhancing, and developing our internal development platform. You will design and refine CI/CD pipelines across a wide product range including backend, web, iOS, and Android applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and improve our internal development platform as part of a team while designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate infrastructure using tools such as GitLab CI, OpenTofu, Terraform, and ArgoCD.
- Set up and manage infrastructure for testing environments based on Kubernetes clusters and MacOS virtual machines.
- Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters to ensure smooth operation of container workloads.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Ensure platform security through automated scans, system hardening, and proactive vulnerability management.
- Guarantee high availability and performance for the entire application landscape hosted in cloud environments.
Candidate Profile
- Completed a degree or comparable IT-related qualification.
- Approximately 4 years of professional experience as a DevOps engineer or a similar role.
- Strong expertise in container technologies and runtime environments such as Kubernetes, with operational experience in private cloud (e.g., OpenStack) or on-premises setups.
- Proficient in using standard CI tools and developing solutions when no off-the-shelf options exist.
- Solid understanding of IT security principles (Security by Design) in infrastructure and pipelines.
- Good knowledge of Python and shell scripting; familiarity with CUE is advantageous.
- Analytical mindset, eagerness to learn, openness to new technologies, creativity, decision-making skills, and commercial awareness.
- Fluent German in spoken and written form, with excellent English language skills.
