Role Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Shannon, Ireland team, working on next-generation, high-performance R&D software solutions. This role involves solving intricate software challenges comparable to the precision and speed of race cars in the software world. You will work with modern C/C++ to deliver world-class, efficient, scalable software, collaborating in an innovative environment that emphasizes continuous learning and boundary-pushing technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop critical production components for next-gen EDA applications with high reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Optimize code for multi-threading, distributed systems, and low-latency operations critical to HPC workloads.
  • Lead architectural design focusing on maintainability, extensibility, distributed system architecture, network topology, and communication patterns.
  • Work closely with architects and product engineers to integrate applications within complex distributed environments, utilizing advanced networking protocols.
  • Champion software quality by implementing best practices such as thorough code reviews, unit and integration tests, and efficient CI/CD workflows.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues related to performance, stability, and scalability in distributed systems.
  • Mentor team members and collaborate across cross-functional teams to transform requirements into innovative technical solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Profound expertise in modern C++ and C programming with emphasis on performance optimization, memory management, and advanced concurrency.
  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed systems, inter-process communication (e.g., gRPC, MPI), and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/S).
  • Proficiency working in Linux environments with scripting abilities (Bash, Python) and expertise in version control tools like Git.
  • Demonstrated competence in software testing methodologies and associated frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong communication abilities, fluent in English.

Preferred Extras

  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration technologies.
  • Familiarity with High-Performance Computing and parallel computing concepts.
  • Understanding of EDA domain or semiconductor chip design workflows.
