Role Responsibilities

• Lead the enhancement of core products by modernizing legacy systems, adding features, and influencing long-term architectural directions.
• Take ownership of system maintenance by reducing technical debt, optimizing performance and reliability, and participating in scaling decisions across the platform.
• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs for customers and partners, ensuring compliance with API standards, versioning, and monitoring.
• Contribute to quality assurance and release processes by writing robust tests, performing detailed code reviews, and improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior developers through pairing, effective code reviews, and informal coaching, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over five years of software development experience using Java and/or Kotlin with object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
• Proven track record in developing backend services and tools within web application environments.
• Capability to provide technical leadership on small projects involving up to four developers, including architectural and design guidance.
• Strong proficiency in data modeling and extensive experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably with Hibernate.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Sharp analytical thinking with the skill to ask pertinent questions and articulate complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
• Bonus: Knowledge of networking concepts such as IP routing and MPLS is advantageous.
