About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the self-checkout area clean, safe, and orderly by removing clutter, spills, and any unwanted objects.
• Promote various Walmart programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable efforts.
• Assist customers in using self-checkout machines effectively and confidently, monitor transactions, handle necessary checks, and communicate clearly any required interventions. Escalate cash or system-related issues to the Customer Service Manager promptly.
• Respond promptly and correctly to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and maintain accurate logs of any failures to deactivate tags.
• Manage Scan & Go equipment by ensuring scanners are returned to their designated storage areas after use.
• Demonstrate flexibility by being available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support operational needs.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Handle high task volumes in a fast-paced environment with efficiency and maintain focus during overnight shifts by planning accordingly.
• Perform physically demanding duties such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive tasks like stocking, organizing, and zoning products with a keen eye for detail to uphold store presentation standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $15.50.

Minimum Requirements
