Job Summary
The Security Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Security Manager to implement, oversee, and monitor all security-related activities. The position is responsible for enforcing security policies to ensure the safety of guests, employees, property, and confidential information, preventing injury, damage, loss, and theft.
Responsibilities
- Safeguard all personnel, guests, assets, and sensitive information.
- Supervise security personnel to ensure effective performance of duties.
- Maintain continuous 24-hour security coverage across the hotel premises.
- Comply with all relevant local laws and regulations.
- Actively participate as a member of the hotel's Emergency Response Team.
- Implement effective preventive security measures, including access control, key management, and material control systems.
- Conduct and conclude investigations related to theft, vandalism, arson, accidents, or any security incidents.
- Operate and maintain surveillance equipment in accordance with standards.
- Ensure strict key control procedures, including logging key withdrawals and deposits.
- Perform regular security patrols throughout each 24-hour cycle.
- Update the Security Log daily and submit it to the Assistant Security Manager for review.
- Oversee and evaluate the contracted security company’s performance on a daily basis.
- Possess thorough knowledge and capability to supervise, train, correct, and demonstrate required duties per standard operating procedures.
- Assign responsibilities to team members, promote multitasking, and conduct periodic performance appraisals.
- Assist in planning weekly work schedules to ensure adequate staffing corresponding to business demands.
- Support annual performance evaluations for security staff.
- Ensure all employees report punctually, appropriately attired in uniform and displaying name badges.
- Assist in employee training to develop skills that maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Comply strictly with the Employee Handbook rules and hotel policies on Fire Safety, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to meet business and hotel needs.
Required Skills and Expertise
- 2 to 4 years of relevant security experience within the hotel industry.
- Strong communication skills in a multicultural environment, including:
- Excellent verbal and written skills in the local language.
- Fluent English communication abilities.
- Additional language skills are advantageous.
- Fundamental knowledge of fire control procedures.
- Basic understanding of CCTV security system operation.
- Practical experience and skills in martial arts for control and security.
- Flexible approach to scheduling shifts.
- Proactive and initiative-driven mindset.
- Computer proficiency relevant to training roles including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
