About the Role

Join G4S Secure Solutions Ireland as a Security Officer based in Clonmel, County Tipperary. This role involves protecting clients’ properties, assets, and personnel through vigilance and professionalism. The position offers a basic hourly pay of €15.41, with additional premiums for Sundays (+€3.44/hour), unsociable hours (€20 per shift), overtime (paid at 1.5x after 96 hours in a fortnight), and double pay for bank holidays worked. Contracted hours total 36 per week following a flexible 12-hour shift pattern covering all days from Monday to Sunday to meet roster and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct security patrols ensuring safety of premises, personnel, and visitors.
  • Operate CCTV and access control systems, proactively identifying and managing security risks.
  • Respond professionally to alarms, incidents, and emergencies.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a security-focused mindset.
  • Accurately log incidents and suspicious activities in real time.
  • Coordinate with emergency services as necessary to resolve issues efficiently.

Candidate Requirements

  • Valid PSA Security Guarding licence mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in security roles.
  • Five years of verifiable employment and personal activity for screening and vetting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Demonstrated observation skills and attention to detail for spotting irregular behavior and potential threats.
  • Professional appearance and dedication to providing quality security services.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts including nights, weekends, public holidays, and unsociable hours.
  • Conflict resolution capabilities to manage and defuse tense situations.
  • Proven ability in emergency procedures and crisis management including first aid and evacuation planning.
  • Competence in using security technologies like CCTV, alarms, access systems, and basic office software for reporting.
  • Strong teamwork to collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel effectively.
  • Excellent time management balancing patrol, monitoring, and administrative tasks.
