Position Details

We are currently seeking a skilled Security Guard to join our team at the Public Library located in Hamilton, Ontario. This full-time position involves working Monday to Thursday from 3:00 PM to 12:15 AM, with a pay rate of $20.10 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled patrols of the assigned premises to maintain safety and security.
  • Record detailed notes of patrol rounds, incidents, irregular activities, and equipment issues.
  • Engage professionally with visitors, staff, contractors, and management personnel.
  • Adhere strictly to security protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Handle and resolve client complaints to achieve complete satisfaction.
  • Assist property management with additional duties as necessary.

Candidate Requirements

  • Basic proficiency in computer use and wireless technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid Ontario Security License.
  • Authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis (up to 40 hours per week).
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • A valid driver's license is considered an asset.
  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Ability to remain standing and walking for prolonged periods, and occasionally climb stairs and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
