Role Overview
The Security Director will lead all security-related aspects for a major infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia, ensuring a comprehensive approach to risk mitigation, operational security, crisis response, and personnel safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive security strategy tailored to local threats and vulnerabilities.
- Perform continuous in-depth risk assessments considering geopolitical and local political environments, including risks of civil unrest or violence.
- Build and nurture an intelligence network in close cooperation with local authorities and law enforcement agencies for actionable insights.
- Advise senior management and project leadership with timely briefings and strategic recommendations on security posture.
- Oversee all physical security measures at the construction site, including perimeter control, surveillance, access management, and security personnel deployment.
- Manage security personnel and third-party contractors, ensuring proper training, equipment, and compliance with protocols.
- Formulate and enforce security policies for project staff, including travel, site rules, and emergency response procedures.
- Coordinate secure logistics for personnel, materials, and equipment transfers, implementing convoy procedures to remote site.
- Collaborate strategically with royal guards on security protocols, operations planning, and alignment of security efforts.
- Monitor speed limits within reserve roads at least twice weekly.
- Develop and maintain crisis management and emergency response plans for scenarios like political disturbances, kidnappings, medical situations, and natural disasters.
- Lead the crisis management team on-site and coordinate with regional and corporate leadership during incidents.
- Conduct regular drills and training to ensure readiness of all personnel in case of emergencies.
- Implement and sustain an emergency communication system to facilitate secure and timely information flow during crises.
- Deploy security programs protecting expatriate and local staff, including personal security and safe house arrangements when needed.
- Safeguard sensitive project data and intellectual property.
- Conduct comprehensive background screening of all employees and contractors accessing the site.
