Job description

Role Overview

We invite applications for the role of Security Adviser within the Physical Security Management team at the Australian Taxation Office in Wollongong, New South Wales. In this position, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of advanced electronic security systems that control access to ATO facilities, sites, and sensitive materials.

Key Duties

  • Operate and manage high-security electronic systems for access control.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and security partners to protect security system integrity.
  • Continuously monitor security alerts and investigate incidents, escalating breaches as necessary.
  • Support incident response efforts and coordinate security measures to reduce risks.
  • Generate operational security reports and maintain precise records and databases.
  • Analyze security data and provide administrative support related to physical security functions.
  • Assist in compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework and ATO security policies.
  • Deliver professional and courteous service to staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Participate in access control assessments, security audits, site evaluations, and implement enhancements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving capabilities. Confidence in handling tasks in a dynamic environment and managing classified information is essential. This role requires consistent onsite presence five days per week due to the nature of access to secure systems and classified data.
