About the Role
Join Canadian Blood Services as a full-time Scheduler/Timekeeper within the Collections Operations West division focused on safely collecting donor blood to produce life-saving products. This position requires a commitment to on-site work of at least 50%, with possible adjustments depending on operational demands. The role is based in Edmonton, Alberta, and involves planning and generating staff schedules, along with managing timekeeping functions according to organizational policies and collective agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors to determine staffing needs aligned with operational requirements.
- Create, adjust, and maintain employee work schedules within collective agreement parameters.
- Manage coverage for staff absences including sick calls and maintain departmental vacation calendars.
- Handle timekeeping and payroll tasks for all Supply Chain personnel, ensuring data accuracy.
- Keep precise records related to scheduling and payroll.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- At least three years of experience in scheduling roles, preferably in regulated environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with possible assessments of Excel expertise.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to synthesize information using deductive reasoning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Strict adherence to confidentiality standards concerning employee information.
- Experience with SAP software is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Additional Information
- The usual working hours are Monday through Friday, 07:00 to 15:00, with initial training lasting 2-4 weeks during which shifts may run from 06:00 to 14:00, conducted fully on-site.
- Employment status: Regular full-time with a 1.0 full-time equivalent schedule.
- Position classification: CUPE 1846 - CAL.
- Salary rate: $21.81 per hour.
