About the Role
Ventia is seeking a Scheduler for its Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) based at Ross Island Barracks in South Townsville. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires the successful candidate to be an Australian Citizen eligible for Defence Security clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1).
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Site Manager by implementing effective, efficient scheduling and resource allocation.
- Monitor progress and assess performance, reporting outcomes accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with planners and technical supervisors to schedule maintenance work orders on Defence equipment.
- Manage resources such as trades personnel and coordinate the provision of repair parts and equipment.
- Initiate preventive measures to avoid non-conformance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in production and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
- Focus on continuous improvement by analyzing current practices and recommending enhancements to Ventia and Defence maintenance procedures.
- Promote excellence in risk management and Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) performance.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in scheduling within a complex maintenance environment.
- Expertise in work order management to deliver technical requirements efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including ERP systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Confidence to challenge decisions constructively.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with effective time management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Additional Information
- Salary range between $80,000 and $85,000 Total Fixed Remuneration (including superannuation), negotiable based on experience and skills.
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, with early finish at 12 PM on Fridays.
