Role Overview
We are looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to lead outbound prospecting efforts and secure highly qualified meetings with in-house legal teams. This frontline sales position involves identifying target accounts, designing persuasive communication strategies, and working closely with Account Executives and Marketing to develop a reliable sales pipeline. The role operates within a fast-paced and evolving environment requiring adaptability, persistence, and creative approaches to attract prospects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement targeted outbound campaigns through emails, cold calls, and LinkedIn reaching legal leaders and general counsels.
- Regularly meet or surpass monthly targets for scheduled meetings and pipeline generation.
- Collaborate strategically with Account Executives to manage and prioritize key accounts, ensuring seamless transitions from prospecting to sales.
- Provide insights to Marketing and Product teams by reporting on the market's response to messaging and outreach efforts.
- Maintain accurate and updated CRM records including tracking interactions with prospects and accounts.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in SaaS sales or lead generation; prior exposure to legal, finance, or compliance sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A strong work ethic with resilience in cold outreach, viewing rejection as informative rather than discouraging.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver concise, value-driven messaging.
- Curious and coachable mindset with a desire to deeply understand the product, market, and sales techniques.
- Demonstrated ownership of responsibilities and accountability for results rather than just processes.
- Highly organized, consistent, and adept at managing time efficiently.
Work Environment
The position is based onsite, with collaboration through in-person teamwork considered essential for performance speed and effectiveness. Occasional client visits may be required. The company fosters a high-performance culture with ambitious goals, requiring self-direction and problem-solving capabilities. The role demands patience, structured thinking, sound judgment, and autonomy in managing complex sales cycles.
Why Join Wordsmith?
The company is experiencing rapid growth, gaining new customers, and expanding into larger accounts. The market is receptive, and the team is scaling to meet increasing demand. This opportunity offers exposure to significant deal closures and accelerated personal growth in an ambitious, merit-based environment.
