The company operates a vast manned and autonomous ride-hailing fleet with over 38,000 vehicles across 29 cities, 13 countries, and 6 continents, supported by more than 2,100 employees. Moove is expanding through partnerships with industry leaders like Uber to improve mobility's safety, efficiency, and accessibility while promoting economic growth and skills development in the sector.

Role Overview

The Autonomous Vehicle Safety Manager will oversee safety for Moove's autonomous vehicle operations in Dubai. This pivotal position ensures clear risk communication, immediate issue resolution, and the implementation of safety programs within a global framework in a cutting-edge mobility market.

This position holds responsibility for safety assurance, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, and vendor oversight. The manager works closely with the General Manager and multiple teams to track safety metrics, anticipate risks, and uphold operational excellence across all Dubai facilities. The role demands readiness for a 24/7 operation with the capacity to manage multiple urgent situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze safety performance data, identifying trends and anomalies to support safety validation and recommend risk controls.
  • Perform thorough fleet and site readiness evaluations prior to deployment.
  • Lead predictive maintenance efforts, oversee system upgrades, and assure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Generate and present timely safety reports and key performance indicators to stakeholders.
  • Drive local site safety programs including weekly safety meetings and safety concern reporting mechanisms.
  • Address safety non-compliance by conducting audits and incident reviews.
  • Organize regular tabletop exercises with vendors to sustain incident preparedness.
  • Customize and enforce local safety programs adapted from Moove's global frameworks.
  • Lead thorough investigations into safety incidents, near-misses, and anomalies, determining root causes and enforcing corrective measures.
  • Act as the 24/7 on-call safety authority for all Dubai operations.
  • Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready documentation of all safety-related activities.
  • Collaborate with General Manager to strategize and enhance fleet safety and health.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners for consistent safety standards.
  • Coordinate with Fleet Operations, Field Operations, Training, and Global Safety Teams to integrate safety standards enterprise-wide.
  • Build and sustain cross-functional ties with operations, security, facilities, and central teams.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in transportation safety, logistics, fleet management, or related safety domain.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science, Risk Management, Transportation, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE transport rules, RTA requirements, and international safety standards. Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA is a plus.
  • Preferred certifications include OSHA 500/501 or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Experience with Kaizen methodologies and continuous improvement strongly favored.
  • Strong influence skills to foster a safety-first culture across organizational levels.
  • Analytical proficiency with experience using Google Workspace and spreadsheet data management.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with executives, regulators, and front-line employees.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and handle multiple, simultaneous high-pressure scenarios.
  • Self-driven, sound judgement, and availability to support a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills considered an advantage.

Team Environment

The candidate reports directly to the General Manager and collaborates closely with the Operations Team. The team is characterized by a collaborative, fast-thinking, and positive culture aimed at revolutionizing vehicle ownership and empowering financial independence.
