Job description
About the Role
This role is within the landscaping and arboriculture sector located at Bukit Batok. The position offers a permanent engagement with working hours from Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Salary consists of a basic pay plus performance-based variable bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and enforce safety and health protocols throughout various landscaping projects and work sites.
- Perform regular on-site inspections, conduct risk assessments, and carry out safety audits to pinpoint and mitigate hazards.
- Ensure adherence to the Workplace Safety and Health Act, Ministry of Manpower regulations, and internal safety policies.
- Lead safety induction sessions, toolbox talks, and briefing meetings for staff and subcontractors.
- Oversee the secure operation of landscaping machinery, equipment, vehicles, chemicals, and personal protective gear.
- Implement safe procedures specifically related to tree care, working at heights, lifting tasks, and roadside landscaping activities.
- Investigate safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors and suggest corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including safety records, inspection outcomes, risk evaluations, permits, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and relevant authorities on safety issues.
- Perform any additional functions as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational attainment is a Nitec, Diploma, or equivalent in Workplace Safety and Health or a related field.
- Certification as a WSH Coordinator, Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health, or a comparable qualification is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of experience in safety roles, ideally in landscaping, construction, or outdoor operational environments.
- Familiarity with Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health laws, risk management approaches, and incident investigation processes.
- Capability to conduct safety meetings and communicate clearly with various personnel including workers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
Additional Information
- Work days: 6 days weekly, Monday to Saturday.
- Work Hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
