About the Role

Join the RAC's team as a Roadside Technician, supporting UK drivers with on-the-spot vehicle repairs and breakdown assistance. This role centers around delivering expert mechanical and diagnostic services to get members back on the road quickly, using your technical knowledge combined with excellent customer care.

Location

Your base will be with the Warrington cluster, providing service to areas including Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton-le-Willows, Leigh, Golborne, and Ashton-in-Makerfield. You will begin and end each workday at your home driveway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics on light vehicles.
  • Provide emergency breakdown support covering a range of issues such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault-finding.
  • Deliver prompt, effective solutions to ensure members can continue their journey with reassurance and confidence.
  • Operate within a demand-driven schedule averaging 40 hours work weekly, with options for additional overtime.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Either possess an NVQ Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience, or have over 5 years working as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
