About the Role

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician and become a key part of the team that keeps the UK moving. This role offers a competitive base salary of 36,400 with a realistic on-target earning potential of 60,000. Exceptional performers have the opportunity to earn even more through bonuses and increased overtime pay rates. Shifts are based on demand with an average of 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available. You will start and finish your day at your own driveway, focusing on local member assistance.

Working Location

You will operate within the Walsall cluster, covering areas such as Walsall, Aldridge, Brownhills, Cannock, Lichfield, Burntwood, and Sutton Coldfield. Work is arranged in a way to ensure daily travel begins and ends at home, facilitating efficient roadside assistance in the local vicinity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical roadside repairs and vehicle diagnostics to support emergency breakdown situations throughout the UK.
• Respond to a diverse range of issues, from flat batteries and tyre changes to complex fault-finding, delivering prompt and confident solutions.
• Maintain outstanding service standards and reassurance to members during roadside assistance.
• Operate equipped RAC van with fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic equipment provided from day one.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Holds an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years of practical experience, or alternatively, have 5+ years of vehicle technician/mechanic experience.
• Possess a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
