About the Role

This opportunity involves assisting in complex rig moves, preparing and executing detailed lift plans, and overseeing the crane operator team on-site to guarantee that heavy lifting operations are conducted safely, effectively, and in compliance with corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to the crane operators during all lifting tasks, ensuring clear communication and adherence to established safe load control procedures.
• Carry out planned lifts accurately, safeguarding rigging equipment and loads by utilizing correct hand signals and maintaining ongoing communication.
• Determine load weights, calculate suitable sling sizes, consider sling angle stresses, and establish center of gravity for the load using bridge and crane load charts, along with unit conversion references between metric and imperial systems.
• Perform comprehensive pre-lift inspections on all rigging gear to confirm compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards and defect-free status; oversee assembly and dismantling of rigging installations.
• Ensure full adherence to GE Vernova’s operational standards, promptly report any hazards, and maintain precise records of all activities.
• Demonstrate effective teamwork and leadership on the shop floor to nurture a safety-first culture.

Job Requirements

• Possession of at least a high school diploma.
• Competency in reading and writing English instructions and effectively communicating with the rigger team.

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of three years' experience working as a Rigger 1 in an industrial environment.
• Current valid certification as a Rigger Level 1.
• Strong capability in selecting essential rigging equipment, solving operational challenges through logical reasoning, and interpreting load charts.
