Retail Security Officer

Role Summary

As a Retail Security Officer, your core responsibility is to safeguard our client's premises, personnel, and assets by adhering strictly to the site's Assignment Instructions and any updates provided. Your efforts should aim to meet or surpass key performance metrics to support contract retention. Ongoing personal development through training is essential.

Main Responsibilities

• Comply fully with all assigned duties and policies, including legal and regulatory standards under UK law and Security Account Manager guidance.
• Stay updated and review Assignment Instructions regularly, proposing improvements to enhance service quality.
• Obtain and maintain an appropriate front-line security licence such as Security Guarding or Door Supervision, and a CCTV PSS SIA Licence, among other necessary certifications required by the contract.
• Perform duties systematically and respectfully following instructions, while complying with industry and statutory legislation.
• Carry out mandatory competency training and additional learning to promote ongoing professional growth, including timely licence renewals.
• Remain vigilant about any health and safety risks, reporting hazards immediately, and respond to potential threats proactively to prevent disruptions or damage.
• Maintain professional conduct in challenging situations and document incidents accurately and promptly for reporting.
• Ensure adherence to scheduled check calls and promptly communicate incidents to emergency services and the Communication Centre.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in security roles is essential.
• Possession of a valid SIA Licence is mandatory.
• Security Clearance (SC) is preferred but not mandatory.
