Retail Assistant Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a Retail Assistant Manager for our Cardonald shop in Glasgow City (postcode: G52 3QN). This full-time permanent role involves working 43 hours across five days per week, including typically one weekend shift. Flexibility to work various shifts throughout the week, including weekends, is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the shop manager to operate a well-organized store delivering excellent customer service.
• Lead and develop retail assistant team members through coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
• Assume accountability for the store in the absence of the manager, ensuring customer care, timely processing of deliveries, and maintenance of a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
• Drive motivation and guidance within the team to control operational expenses, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll expenses.
• Assist the manager with hiring and onboarding new staff.

• Be reliable and trustworthy, playing a vital role within a small team dynamic.
• Have previous experience in a managerial, supervisory, or team leader capacity.
• Successfully complete a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check as a condition of employment.
