Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant (RA) to join the Statistics and Business Analytics team at the College of Business and Economics, United Arab Emirates University. This role involves contributing to an active funded project centered on FinTech and Financial Innovation, with special emphasis on digital finance and their impacts on corporate finance, governance, as well as sustainable finance.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support applied empirical research investigating FinTech adoption, digital transformation, financial inclusion, the interaction of ESG and FinTech, and the technology-driven shifts in corporate behavior and financial markets. The RA will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, participate in regular progress meetings, and aim to produce high-quality journal articles.
Qualifications and Skills
- PhD in Finance, Financial Economics, FinTech, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Proven publication record or promising research potential in FinTech, Corporate Finance, Governance, or Sustainable Finance (ESG).
- Strong capabilities with statistical and programming tools such as Stata, Python, R, SAS.
- Familiarity with databases including Compustat, CRSP, BoardEx, WRDS, Bloomberg, or datasets related to FinTech.
- Excellent quantitative analysis skills, particularly with large-scale survey data.
- Ability to operate both independently and as part of a research team.
- Strong organizational skills and proficient spoken and written English.
- Preferred additional skills include AI and Machine Learning techniques in FinTech.
Employment Details
The appointment is initially for one year with a possibility for extension depending on funding and performance. Interested candidates should apply before November 2, 2026.
