Remote Processing Station Operator (RPSO)

Role Overview

The position is responsible for managing Remote Station Operations (RPS) for the Global Prepositioned Materiel Services (GPMS) supporting USAFE. The operator ensures availability of all necessary computer listings and reports across all Area of Responsibility (AOR) locations. Monitoring of Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) terminals locally and at all AOR sites is required to guarantee proper operation. The role involves developing local software solutions to fulfill unique processing and reporting needs to streamline manual tasks and generate accessible management reports. Compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) standards is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver centralized remote supply processing and systems support to designated Materiel Management locations.
• Utilize logistics information platforms such as ILS-S, ELMS, and BLADE to conduct remote Materiel Management processing, investigative research, monitoring, analysis, and system support.
• Process, oversee, verify, and investigate supply transactions to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Monitor system outputs to detect processing errors, transaction rejections, inconsistencies, and conditions needing correction.
• Identify, investigate, resolve, and clear supply transaction errors and rejects within ILS-S.
• Analyze the root causes of problematic transactions and coordinate corrective measures.
• Perform detailed supply research into current and historical transactions, requisition statuses, asset records, due-ins and due-outs, and documentation.
• Leverage BLADE and other authorized data sources to assist in supply research, analysis, reporting, trend detection, and discrepancy resolution.
• Cross-reference data across multiple systems and reports when addressing complex supply issues.
• Apply critical thinking and independent judgment to tackle complex supply problems beyond routine fixes.
• Review transaction histories to identify process failures and determine corrective actions.
• Track unresolved transactions and coordinate with Supply Superintendents on discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Provide technical support and training to Supply Superintendents on systems, reports, transaction statuses, and error codes.
• Identify recurring error trends and communicate findings to relevant personnel.
• Escalate complex system or supply issues when local resolution is inadequate.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute required supply reports promptly to supported sites and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation related to reports, research, transaction corrections, and RPSO activities.
• Train Supply Superintendents using a train-the-trainer approach to ensure effective knowledge transfer for site personnel training.
• Develop and maintain desk guides, checklists, training materials, continuity documents, and SOPs related to RPSO.
• Communicate system changes, procedural updates, recurring issues, and lessons learned to support personnel.
• Promote standardized supply processing practices while supporting site-level training responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong working knowledge of ILS-S, along with familiarity with ELMS and BLADE logistics systems.
• Experience handling supply transaction processing, research, rejects resolution, and intensive supply analysis.
• Proficient in generating, interpreting, analyzing, and distributing supply reports.
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities to independently resolve supply discrepancies.
• Comprehensive understanding of USAF Materiel Management policies and procedures.
• Effective communication skills for providing technical guidance and training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicable Department of Defense logistics software.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in USAF Materiel Management (2S0X1) or equivalent DoD supply and logistics roles.
• High school diploma or an equivalent credential required.
• Eligibility for necessary system, network, and security access maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the host country.
• Baseline requirements include one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus 3 years specialized experience; Associate degree plus 7 years specialized experience; Major certification plus 7 years specialized experience; or 11 years of specialized experience.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain US Secret Security Clearance.
• Familiarity with ESS, ILSS, ELMS, manual and automated supply accounting systems, and AFMAN 25-101 and 23 series policies.
• Knowledge of 635th SCOW and USAFE policies and procedures.

Working Conditions

• Potential remote and challenging living/working environments at the assignment site including long hours and exposure to harsh weather and hazards.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
• Work conducted in normal office, maintenance shop, or warehouse settings, with occasional outdoor tasks requiring PPE.
• Physical capability to perform duties including lifting/pushing/pulling a minimum of 50 lbs.

Compensation

Salary offered ranges between 75,000 and 85,000 (currency unspecified).
