Role Overview
Based at the Premier UK Foods site in Carlton, Barnsley (S71 3HF), this permanent full-time position (39 hours per week) offers a competitive salary of up to p55,000 annually. The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing effective maintenance strategies for site equipment, ensuring optimal balance between preventative measures, reliability improvements, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and refine a cost-efficient, timely maintenance schedule targeting all electrical and mechanical assets within the manufacturing area to boost equipment reliability.
- Lead escalation processes for maintenance issues or breakdowns liaising with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for support.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to maximize equipment utilization, striving to meet KPIs and promote line efficiency within safety, quality, and environmental guidelines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance plans including technical documentation and Maintenance Operating Procedures as part of the Site Capital Plan.
- Assist in shaping future capital expenditure plans through detailed assessments of machine obsolescence programs.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation maintenance disciplines, with specific expertise in bakery-related machinery such as mixers, depositors, ovens, and packing equipment.
- Familiarity with OEM guidelines for asset care.
- Proficient in various asset care systems with demonstrated organizational and planning skills for managing overhaul schedules and machine upgrade projects.
- Experienced in applying problem-solving methodologies and analytical techniques to resolve complex operational challenges.
- Strong communication capabilities, able to influence and lead both direct teams and broader groups effectively.
- Proven track record in analyzing and resolving intricate operational issues.
