About the Role

The Rectification Controller, reporting to the Forward Maintenance Manager, is responsible for leading a maintenance team and managing a variety of reporting duties. This role demands a thorough understanding of Typhoon aircraft systems and reporting protocols. Central duties include maintaining and updating the ESS State Board, estimating and forecasting aircraft recovery times, and briefing the Part M organization on the Typhoon fleet condition and recovery efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise assigned team members effectively.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are properly documented and airworthiness records are maintained in relevant systems.
• Manage Rectifications Control operations including accurate upkeep of the ESS State Board, timelines for aircraft recovery, and briefing authorized pilots on aircraft limitations.
• Execute maintenance and diagnostic tasks on aircraft or components, which may involve ground handling, flight servicing, role changes, component removal, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault resolutions, replacements, and system tests.
• Oversee team maintenance scheduling, identify any issues, escalate when necessary, and report impacts on the overall program.
• Adopt a flexible and proactive approach in performing role responsibilities and follow directions appropriately.
• Verify team competency and approval status for assigned maintenance tasks.
• Maintain both personal and team task authorizations per regulatory guidelines.
• Meet agreed short and medium-term delivery targets through supervision.
• Perform support tasks within maintenance facilities to ensure compliance with the Maintenance Organization Exposition (MOE).
• Provide guidance and leadership, including team member development via formal assessments and clear communication of complex information.
• Carry out fault evaluation and raise work cards for discrepancies identified during maintenance.
• Conduct independent, critical inspections as required.
• Supervise personnel effectively to meet tactical delivery targets.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage regulatory activities by setting and monitoring delivery targets, prioritizing work, and driving performance improvements.
• Comply with regulatory frameworks, procedures, and company standards, suggesting updates when required.
• Ensure all Part 145 activities are properly recorded and performed by qualified personnel, integrating these activities with key stakeholders.
• Champion Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management, and Safety Assurance principles within the team and manage hazard mitigation proactively.
• Guarantee Part 145 team compliance within the Regulatory Governance and Assurance framework, support audits, respond to findings, and implement improvements.
• Maintain adherence to relevant continuing airworthiness regulations and support the integration of regulatory changes.
• Meet all contractual obligations related to the role.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed Engineering Apprenticeship (City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 or equivalent), preferably in Aeronautical Engineering, or an accredited Engineering Degree (aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionics, or related field).
• At least 2 years experience in a supervisory role before undertaking this position.
• Proficient in On the Job Training Instructional Techniques.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience following aviation safety standards and operational procedures.
• At least 2 years operator experience in aircraft maintenance component environment with documented skills, knowledge, and authorities in a logbook.
• Recent hands-on experience (6 months) on Typhoon aircraft type within the last two years.
• Strong knowledge of Acceptable Means of Compliance and relevant management training.
• Completion of Typhoon Avionic or Mechanical Trade ‘Q’ Course or equivalent.
• Certification in Human Factors, E&PW Awareness, and ITAR Awareness standard courses.
• Competent IT literacy skills.
