Job Responsibilities
The Receiving Associate ensures efficient loading and unloading of shipments and manages product distribution in the store following established procedures. Key tasks include unpacking, merchandising, stocking shelves, and handling inventory to maintain accessibility, stock levels, and safety.
- Accurately process purchase orders per SOP guidelines
- Use scanning devices and inventory software to document receipts
- Identify and communicate any shortages in purchase orders or distribution center deliveries daily
- Maintain documentation and filing of receiving paperwork every day
- Assist in sorting trucks at the distribution center and verify vendor price tags
- Apply security tags and price labels on apparel according to SOP
- Oversee inventory levels of supplies like hangers, labels, and security tags
- Manage store-to-store transfers, shipping, and receiving with accurate recordkeeping
- Support inventory control on sales floors during peak demand
- Work closely with the receiving team to ensure smooth operations
- Follow company-established receiving protocols consistently
- Organize products on transport carts for efficient distribution
- Move freight to sales floors ensuring correct quantities
- Help management track merchandise accurately
- Facilitate smooth transfers between stores and via UPS
- Assist with investigating and resolving negative on-hand inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Operate office equipment, forklifts, and pallet jacks correctly
- Engage in cross-training for versatility across departments
- Participate actively in training programs, workshops, and webinars to improve skills and stay updated
- Provide friendly and professional support to colleagues and customers, addressing inquiries and issues promptly

- Perform other related duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of receiving experience or an equivalent mix of experience and education
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and efficiency
- Strong attention to detail producing error-free work aligned with quality standards
- Capability to work independently without constant supervision
- Comfortable using computer systems and software for assisting customers or managing tasks
Physical Demands
- Ability to remain seated or standing for prolonged periods
- Capacity to repeatedly lift, push, or pull at least 30 pounds and intermittently handle 31-50 pounds
- Proficient use of ladder, pallet jack, and forklift
- Ability to access all facility areas
- Strong verbal communication skills in person and via electronic means
- Good close-up vision for computer work
