About the Role
Join the permanent staff at Lone Pine Barracks - Singleton as a Range Operator, supporting essential operations within Defence facilities. This position forms part of Downer's significant contract delivering base and estate services across NSW/ACT and Queensland, building on an 80+ year partnership with the Australian Defence Force.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Range Supervisor in maintaining and operating range facilities, ensuring security and adherence to range standing orders and safety protocols.
- Carry out routine inspections and upkeep of Training Areas and Ranges.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and relevant regulations through inspections.
- Contribute to improving the performance of Training Areas and Ranges.
- Provide detailed inputs to reporting mechanisms supporting the Range Supervisor.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience or knowledge in facilities maintenance, minor repairs, or caretaker duties.
- Completion of a Range Induction Course is advantageous.
- Possession of a Medium Rigid Truck Licence is desirable.
- Must hold a current Open Driver's Licence.
- Capability to obtain and retain Defence Security Clearance; Australian citizenship is mandatory.
- Completion of Public Safety Training Package units will be required as part of the role.
