Job description
Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the commercial department with tendering and pre-contract processes for mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects.
Key Duties
- Collaborate with the commercial team to manage tender preparation and pre-contract activities.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope to produce preliminary quantity take-offs and cost evaluations.
- Develop pricing proposals, perform cost comparisons, and create budgetary estimates in line with project needs and market rates.
- Identify and communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to collect quotations, technical data, and conduct commercial assessments.
- Visit project sites to assess current conditions, installation prerequisites, and possible cost or technical challenges.
- Provide assistance with tender clarifications, qualifications, exclusions, and prepare commercial submissions ahead of bid deadlines.
- Monitor pricing trends for materials, labor, and subcontractors to sustain up-to-date cost benchmarks for forthcoming tenders.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to address inconsistencies in scope, quantities, and documentation.
- Following contract award, gather and handover pricing, quantity, and tender documentation to project execution teams.
- Participate in tender presentations, commercial negotiations, and pre-contract discussions, also offering practical input based on site conditions.
