Job description
Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor at Currie & Brown, your responsibility will be to support and manage diverse projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints while meeting the high-quality standards expected by both Currie & Brown and its clients. You will oversee project performance, maintain client satisfaction, and seek opportunities for recurring business engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver cost management services including civil, structural, architectural, and interior design sectors.
- Provide expert cost consultancy, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to best practices.
- Conduct project feasibility studies, design assessments, budget estimates, and cost planning.
- Estimate costs, assess risks, and monitor expenditure throughout projects.
- Manage tendering processes, procurement, contract administration, and prepare relevant documentation.
- Perform tender analyses, prepare monthly valuations and financial reports.
- Negotiate final accounts and oversee other Quantity Surveyors as needed.
- Engage actively in company training, internal forums, and social events.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities and assisting with proposals.
- Promote company values and comply with the Quality Management System's policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in quantity surveying or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of technical experience within a global construction consultancy environment.
- Proven technical ability in preparing tender documents, cost plans, estimates, and measurement from drawings.
- Strong passion for quantity surveying and career advancement within property consultancy.
- Excellent communication and client-facing competencies.
- Collaborative mindset with strong teamwork capabilities, along with ability to build enduring professional relationships.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with measurement software such as CostX and CADMeasure is advantageous.
