Job description

Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor at Currie & Brown, your responsibility will be to support and manage diverse projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints while meeting the high-quality standards expected by both Currie & Brown and its clients. You will oversee project performance, maintain client satisfaction, and seek opportunities for recurring business engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver cost management services including civil, structural, architectural, and interior design sectors.
  • Provide expert cost consultancy, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to best practices.
  • Conduct project feasibility studies, design assessments, budget estimates, and cost planning.
  • Estimate costs, assess risks, and monitor expenditure throughout projects.
  • Manage tendering processes, procurement, contract administration, and prepare relevant documentation.
  • Perform tender analyses, prepare monthly valuations and financial reports.
  • Negotiate final accounts and oversee other Quantity Surveyors as needed.
  • Engage actively in company training, internal forums, and social events.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities and assisting with proposals.
  • Promote company values and comply with the Quality Management System's policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in quantity surveying or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of technical experience within a global construction consultancy environment.
  • Proven technical ability in preparing tender documents, cost plans, estimates, and measurement from drawings.
  • Strong passion for quantity surveying and career advancement within property consultancy.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing competencies.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong teamwork capabilities, along with ability to build enduring professional relationships.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with measurement software such as CostX and CADMeasure is advantageous.
