Role Overview

The position is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Abu Dhabi. The chosen candidate will oversee the commercial and cost management of interior design, fit-out, joinery, and construction projects. Responsibilities include ensuring precision in project costing, budget adherence, and financial reporting during the entire project duration.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, detailed measurements, cost estimates, tender documentation, and budget plans.
• Monitoring project expenditures compared to approved budgets and compiling regular cost reports.
• Assessing variations and claims, supporting negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding commercial matters.
• Collaborating closely with Design, Estimation, Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, and Site Teams to confirm quantities and evaluate project requirements.
• Maintaining rigorous cost-control procedures consistent with UAE construction and fit-out standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 7 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the UAE, with significant exposure to Interior Design, Fit-Out, Joinery, and Construction projects.
• Hands-on knowledge of interior fit-out works such as architectural finishes, joinery, ceilings, flooring, partitions, doors, and MEP coordination.
• Expertise in BOQ preparation, quantity measurement, rate analysis, cost estimation, and tendering.
• Solid skills in cost control, planning, budget monitoring, and management throughout project phases.
• Experience preparing valuation reports, payment applications, variation orders, claims, and final accounts.
• Proficient in evaluating subcontractor quotations, commercial proposals, invoice reviews, and verifying quantities for payment certification.
• Strong capabilities in variation assessment, change order evaluations, additional or omitted work reviews, and commercial negotiations.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contracts for cost impact analysis.
• Deep familiarity with UAE market rates, materials, subcontract pricing, and local fit-out methods.
• Computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel and QS/cost estimation software, to manage detailed cost tracking.
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities to effectively liaise with various stakeholders including clients and site teams.
• Capacity to handle multiple projects concurrently, comply with tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced interior fit-out environment.
• Only candidates with a minimum of 7 years of relevant UAE Quantity Surveying experience in Interior Design/Fit-Out projects will be considered.
• Availability to start immediately or on short notice is advantageous.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness, precision in costing, responsibility, and professional ethics are essential.
