Overview
The Quantitative Engineering and Data division at Susquehanna is focused on leveraging data to drive revenue in the trading domain. This rapidly growing European team collaborates with researchers, traders, and engineering groups globally to build algorithms, processes, and datasets that enhance trading operations.
Job Summary
As a Quantitative Data Engineer, you will collaborate closely with Quantitative Research and Trading teams to enhance quantitative code and algorithms, analyze intricate datasets, and create model features that support research initiatives. Your role will deepen your understanding of quantitative trading business needs, allowing you to deliver meaningful impact through your skills.
Responsibilities
- Contribute as an integral member of the Quantitative Engineering and Data group.
- Support research and trading by applying data science, analytical methods, and engineering expertise.
- Develop, test, and deploy efficient Python code to generate model features, conduct data analysis, optimize algorithms, and manage data workflows.
- Collaborate with researchers on revenue-focused projects, focusing on coding solutions to accelerate delivery.
- Acquire deep knowledge of Susquehanna's systems and business practices.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in a STEM field complemented by independent research or project experience through professional roles, Masters, or PhD.
- Over four years of professional experience with Python, including algorithm design to solve complex programming challenges.
- At least three years of hands-on work with data manipulation libraries such as Pandas, Polars, or PySpark.
- Proficiency working in Linux environments.
- Motivated to collaborate with researchers and enhance research speed and quality.
- Capable of managing one's workload independently while proactively seeking process enhancements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work within quantitative teams.
- Detail-oriented with flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities.
- A strong enthusiasm for quantitative trading.
