Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Quality Control Assistant to join our dynamic Quality Assurance team based in Morningside. This role involves maintaining high standards of product quality and safety in a fast-moving production environment.
Compensation and Work Schedule
- Hourly rate of $30.35 plus superannuation and additional penalties for overtime hours
- Standard workweek: Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week
- Permanent, full-time position featuring early start and finish times

- Paid on a fortnightly basis
Primary Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections to monitor production processes and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Perform and meticulously document quality checks involving scales, metal detectors, gas analyzers, air temperatures, thermometers, labels, and product attributes
- Maintain comprehensive daily records to ensure product traceability, promptly identify problems, and implement corrective measures
- Conduct audits including Black Bag (for foreign objects), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and operational checks before and after production runs to ensure factory adherence to regulations
- Collaborate closely with production teams to sustain product quality and undertake additional tasks related to the role as required
Candidate Profile
- Possesses HACCP or Food Safety certification along with experience in a comparable quality control role
- Background in the food sector, particularly in seafood, meat, poultry, or food safety inspection
- Thorough knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), GMP, and food safety protocols with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and adapt to working in cold conditions
- Must hold valid full Australian working rights
