Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated QA Analyst to join a well-established software product company in a permanent full-time position. The role is based in Ireland with occasional office visits in Dublin required, though you may be located anywhere within the country.
Responsibilities
This position focuses mainly on hands-on functional and regression testing, which accounts for about 80% of the workload. The remaining 20% involves automation testing tasks that will progressively expand as you develop your skills with support from the team. You will work closely within a product squad consisting of engineers, a product manager, and a designer, managing quality across all deliverables produced by the squad.
Your key responsibility will include independently analyzing user stories to determine test requirements, authoring test cases, identifying testing gaps during story refinement, and reporting precise and actionable defects for engineering follow-up.
Technological and Process Environment
The company integrates AI-driven approaches, where engineers employ AI tools to assist coding, and testers utilize AI for generating test cases, creating test data, and expediting root cause analysis. While AI expertise is not mandatory, a genuine interest or prior engagement with AI technologies in your work is expected.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
Ideal candidates should have 3 to 4 years of solid experience in functional testing of web applications, skilled in crafting and sustaining test cases based on user stories. Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman, along with a strong command of SQL, is essential. Experience working in Agile product squads, including participation in refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives, is required.
Some practical automation experience specifically using frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium with Java or TypeScript is necessary. Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira and Confluence is expected.
Though not mandatory, certifications like ISTQB, knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, and exposure to performance or security testing are advantageous.
Additional Information
Applicants must have current authorization to work in Ireland without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future; sponsorship or self-sponsoring for the role is not available.
