About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Python Backend Engineer to join our technology team focused on building scalable and reliable backend systems for our AI-powered SaaS platform. The position involves creating secure APIs, improving database performance, and contributing to the design of robust, distributed backend solutions supporting high availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services primarily using Python.
- Create production-grade applications leveraging frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Design and develop secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs tailored for efficient data exchange.
- Implement scalable microservices and distributed system architectures.
- Integrate various third-party services including payment gateways, CRM platforms, AI tools, communication channels, and other external SaaS products.
- Design effective database schemas and optimize complex SQL queries to enhance performance.
- Work extensively with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
- Implement robust authentication and authorization protocols using JWT, OAuth2, and API keys.
- Produce reusable, clean, and well-documented code adhering to clean architecture and best practices.
- Create unit tests, integration tests, and API tests to ensure software reliability.
- Monitor system performance in production, troubleshoot issues, and optimize backend efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps, QA, product management, and AI specialists to deliver seamless solutions.
- Engage in architectural planning, code reviews, and technical discussions maintaining high standards for security and scalability.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ professional experience developing backend applications with Python.
- Strong command over Python programming language and its ecosystem.
- Proficient in at least one Python web framework such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Deep understanding of REST API and GraphQL standards and best design principles.
- Proven ability to design scalable backend system architectures.
- Expertise in relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Experience with NoSQL databases including Redis and MongoDB.
- Solid grasp of software engineering concepts such as object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
- Familiarity with collaborative version control using Git.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming concepts using async/await syntax.
- Experience working with containerization tools like Docker.
- Basic understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Capacity to write automated tests with frameworks like PyTest and unit/integration test suites.
- Strong debugging aptitude and skills in performance tuning backend applications.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with clear communication proficiency.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Hands-on experience with AI or Large Language Model (LLM) integrations such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or DeepSeek.
- Knowledge of LangChain or similar AI agent frameworks.
- Background task processing with Celery.
- Experience using message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Working knowledge of WebSockets for real-time communication.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch search technologies.
- Kubernetes orchestration experience.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience configuring web servers like Nginx.
- Proficiency in Linux server environment administration.
- Architecture design for multi-tenant SaaS systems.
- Integration experience with CRM platforms like Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot, or Odoo.
