The Opportunity
Amidst growth and expansion, MinRes seeks a committed Purchasing Officer to enhance cost-effective procurement and timely delivery of materials and services, aligned with procurement governance standards. This position entails collaboration with various stakeholders and involvement in initiatives aimed at improving quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure goods and services efficiently, focusing on delivering value.
- Ensure purchase order data accuracy and compliance with established standards.
- Prevent acquisition of prohibited or unauthorized items.
- Resolve system-related queries and provide user education as needed.
- Maintain strict governance adherence in all procurement activities.
- Build and nurture professional relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage workload priorities to align with business requirements.
- Promptly escalate issues regarding system functionality to management.
- Contribute to improvement projects under supervisory guidance.
- Promote a culture of support to foster team member development.
- Offer after-hours support to meet urgent business demands.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer, ideally within the resources sector.
- Knowledge and experience with forward purchase agreements.
- Familiarity with the Coupa Purchase-to-Pay system is preferred.
- Strong skills in time management and communication.
- Capability to work effectively under pressure, independently and collaboratively.
- Agile mindset, open to innovation and opportunity-seizing.
