Job description
About the Role
The Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Uganda is seeking a dedicated Project Officer to join their team under the oversight of the Project Director. This role is primarily based in Kampala but requires travel to project locations and field offices up to 30% of the time. The position is contingent upon the successful award of the project and aims to strengthen child protection systems, early childhood development services, family support, referrals, and case management while promoting family-based care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating and executing assigned project activities according to the detailed implementation plan, ensuring alignment with CRS quality standards, donor mandates, and best practices.
- Monitor project progress, identify challenges or gaps, and provide timely feedback to adapt plans and schedules accordingly.
- Support accountability by helping coordinate evaluation activities, collaborate with local partners on data collection, analysis, and timely report submissions.
- Gather and assess capacity and technical assistance needs of partner organizations, overseeing the effectiveness of capacity-building interventions.
- Document project activities thoroughly and contribute to case studies and reports highlighting successful practices.
Skills and Qualifications
- Fluency in both spoken and written English is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office suite tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong observational, listening, and analytical capabilities with sound judgment.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with local partners and community stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented approach ensuring accuracy and punctuality in task completion.
- Proactive with a focus on results and providing excellent service.

- This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
