About the Role and Company

The position is situated within the chief infrastructure office of an Irish semi-state organisation overseeing high voltage station and circuit projects, including upgrades and refurbishments of the transmission network. The Project Manager will guide projects from conceptual development through feasibility studies, statutory planning, consents, and ultimately handover to the detailed design and construction phases.
This role involves a mix of office work and site visits to various transmission network asset locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing projects from inception through design, procurement, and construction stages.
- Ensuring timely, high-quality project outcomes aligned with milestones and objectives.
- Managing budgets, identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities to ensure project success.
- Contributing to sustainable business growth while upholding company values and standards.
- Coordinating consultant teams and encouraging effective collaboration among stakeholders.
- Driving project performance to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Sharing best practices and leveraging organizational expertise to improve results.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of an engineering degree or technical equivalent with at least 4 years’ experience leading large infrastructure projects.
- Balance of project management skills and a solid understanding of power systems.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience generating and implementing innovative ideas or solutions.
- Strong organizational abilities and proficient English communication skills.
- Commercial acumen with sound decision-making capabilities relevant to project execution.
- Good analytical capabilities complemented by strong IT proficiency.
- Possession of a valid full driver’s licence.
