Project Manager

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Project/Delivery Manager to oversee the successful implementation of AI and data-focused technology projects in partnership with Mediacorp stakeholders. This position involves managing the entire project lifecycle—from defining use cases and conducting proofs of concept through to pilot phases, production launches, and operational handover—collaborating closely with business leaders, data scientists, AI engineers, and external delivery teams. The role demands end-to-end responsibility for project execution, cross-team leadership, governance oversight, and ensuring timely delivery aligned with Mediacorp's business goals, responsible AI principles, and established standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business, product, and engineering teams to set project scope, goals, deliverables, data prerequisites, and success metrics including model effectiveness and adoption rates.
• Create and sustain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and milestone tracking mechanisms.
• Manage project phases from initiation, through proof of concept, pilot, deployment, to transition and closure.
• Track progress against project scope, timelines, and key deliverables such as data preparation, model creation and testing, integration, and user acceptance criteria.
• Handle change requests, evaluating their effects on scope, timeline, cost, and resource allocation, supporting iterative AI development.
• Translate AI use cases into actionable project components with clear hypotheses, evaluation benchmarks, and go/no-go decision points between project stages.
• Monitor data dependencies including availability, quality, and licensing, escalating any risks impacting delivery or performance promptly.
• Coordinate model evaluation and user acceptance testing to confirm compliance with accuracy, safety, and performance standards before production release.
• Ensure AI implementations are reviewed for privacy, security, intellectual property, bias, and human oversight requirements with documented approvals before deployment.
• Communicate expectations clearly around AI outputs, highlighting exploratory aspects, confidence limits, or needs for iteration.
• Lead governance meetings, sprint reviews, steering committees, and regular status updates.
• Prepare and deliver project dashboards and executive reporting for stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder priorities and communications throughout project phases.
• Collaborate with other project managers and teams to manage interdependencies and champion delivery best practices.
• Oversee external vendors and partners to ensure contractual commitments and issue resolution.
• Guide Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Support Product Owners in backlog prioritization, release planning, and sprint execution.
• Monitor sprint progress, remove impediments, and ensure quality delivery within timelines.
• Coordinate business-as-usual activities, including production support and minor upgrades, while minimizing disruptions.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID), including AI-specific risks like model drift and data quality challenges.
• Maintain RAID logs with timely follow-up and escalate critical problems with mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with Mediacorp's governance, security, data protection, responsible AI, and organizational policies throughout project execution.
• Adhere to company working hours and project governance protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• At least 9 years of demonstrated experience managing end-to-end technology or digital transformation projects, particularly involving AI, data, digital media, or intelligent automation.
• Proven track record delivering AI, machine learning, generative AI, data platform, or automation initiatives from proof of concept through production is highly preferred.
• Understanding of AI delivery concepts including data pipelines, model training and evaluation, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, and MLOps sufficient to guide planning and technical decision-making.
• Familiarity with AI governance principles such as data privacy, PDPA compliance, model risk, bias mitigation, explainability, and intellectual property.
• Strong expertise in Agile and Scrum frameworks with experience facilitating Agile delivery processes.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and negotiation skills capable of translating complex AI concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proactive risk management.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and external delivery partners is beneficial.
• Knowledge of business-as-usual support and production environment management is a plus.
• Proficiency in modern collaboration and project management tools including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office.
• Practical experience with AI-augmented productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, GitHub Copilot, which aid in planning, documentation, and team collaboration.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI-ACP or equivalent are advantageous; AI or cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI, AWS Machine Learning, Google Cloud AI) are a plus.
