About the Role

We have a 6-month fixed-term job opening at our Auckland, Mangere site due to increased production volume. As a Process and Technical Operator, you'll play a vital role on the factory floor by ensuring high standards of product quality and safety. Operating on a rostered shift system, you'll support efficient production by managing automated machinery and maintaining compliance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining rigorous Quality and Health & Safety standards.
- Strictly following internal operational procedures.
- Setting up, operating, and monitoring automated production equipment.
- Performing regular equipment inspections, risk assessments, and diagnostics.
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Completing accurate documentation of procedures, configurations, and problem resolutions to support knowledge sharing.
- Engaging in hands-on technical tasks including maintenance, repair, and cleaning of machinery components.
- Carrying out processes for cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of production equipment.
- Participating in ongoing training to stay current with technological advancements.
- Working shifts on a roster pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, with 12.25 hour shifts; choose between day (5:45am to 6pm) or night shifts (5:45pm to 6am) with night shift allowance. Only work every second weekend.
Candidate Profile
- Practical knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices in a production environment.
- Experience operating machinery, ideally within the food manufacturing sector.
- Ability to commit to fixed shifts (either days or nights, not alternating).
- Willingness and ability to work every second weekend on shift roster.
- Awareness of hygiene standards relevant to food production, especially within high care environments.
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
- High attention to detail and reliability.
- Physical capability to handle lifting up to 25kg as required.
- Proactive, confident, process-focused, with interests in mechanics and maintenance.
- Minimum of one year’s industrial experience preferred, especially within dairy or food production.
