About the Role

Join Sandvik Mining as a Production Planner located in Mount Isa, Queensland. This full-time position is central to scheduling and managing production workflows in a busy workshop environment. You will work closely with technical and procurement teams to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, finalize, and communicate detailed production plans to all relevant parties.
  • Develop and oversee production schedules to optimise resource use and workflow efficiency.
  • Regularly update customers with accurate progress reports on daily and weekly production milestones.
  • Work collaboratively with workshop staff to guarantee timely and precise completion of tasks.
  • Track parts inventory and coordinate with procurement to avoid any production downtime.
  • Keep comprehensive records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and servicing activities.
  • Analyse production outcomes and introduce improvements to enhance performance.
  • Detect bottlenecks in processes and propose effective solutions to increase productivity.
  • Prepare variation bills of materials and cost estimates when project scope changes arise.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate holds qualifications as a mechanical tradesperson and has substantive experience in workshop planning and coordination. You should be adept at managing schedules and workflows, possess a solid understanding of maintenance operations, and be skilled in inventory management. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project is essential for transforming data into actionable tasks. Your approach is analytical, organised, and collaborative, with a focus on delivering customised solutions that align with customer needs.
